Help restore me to my former and future glory!

There are a number of older and very significant murals in Milwaukee that have faded and are crumbling due to the affects of time and weather. The Milwaukee Mural Map project wants to help restore these murals to their original vibrancy and add newer, stronger coatings to help preserve them for future generations.

The Milwaukee Mural Map website also costs money to maintain and is currently being paid for by the creator of the Map. A breakdown of the costs are as such:
Website domain: $12/year
Google Maps Engine Pro usage: $60/year

Please consider donating to the Mural Restoration Fund and towards the expenses that make the Map available. The first $72 raised will go towards website costs – 100% of subsequent donations will go towards mural restoration. This will cover painting supplies/equipment and artist compensation.

The first mural that will be restored with the money raised is the Black Cowboys Association mural on 31st St. and Brown St. The creator chose this mural for the great things the Black Cowboys Association does for the community (for information about this mural, please see the Map). The creator of the Milwaukee Mural Map has received permissions from the owner and has located local youth and artists to assist in the painting process. A lead artist is still needed, however. If you are interested in leading this project, please send an email to mkemuralmap@gmail.com.

A donation link will be added once a bank account specific to donations has been created. Stay tuned!
